Many people are aware that all local municipalities offer vouchers to help spay or neuter community cats. However, not everyone knows that all area municipalities except one also offer vouchers to help lower income residents offset the cost of spaying or neutering their pet cats. These vouchers help reduce the free-roaming cat population, because unwanted pet cats often wind up as the parents and grandparents of community cats. While most 2025 vouchers have already been claimed, we hope to see them available again in 2026 and encourage all municipalities to provide for both feral cat vouchers and low income cat owner vouchers in their 2026 budgets.
