The primary focus of Community Veterinary Clinic is on providing services to owned pets. This helps prevent future free-roaming cats by reducing the number of unwanted litters who end up abandoned and whose offspring become feral. But we know that there are already a lot of free-roaming cats out there who also need to be spayed or neutered, and our clinic works with caregivers in a variety of ways to help arrange TNR surgeries. You can start the process by completing the “Request Spay/ Neuter Appointment” form at the bottom of this page. We’ll usually start by booking you a surgery appointment.  This often works when you have multiple cats to TNR and are likely to catch someone, or for friendly outdoor cats who come daily and can be placed into a carrier. We are also happy to work with caregivers willing to be flexible trapping by booking appointments on short notice when surgery spots are available.  Once we get your completed appointment request we will give you a call and come up with a plan that works best for everyone!  

We recommend that cats who are not able to be handled arrive in a live trap for the safety of our staff (traps can be borrowed from a rescue group, rented from the Humane Society or often can be found in the garage of a friend or neighbour). The cost of surgery is $100 for males and $150 for females, and all municipal vouchers are accepted towards surgery.  Ear tipping is recommended (although not required) and is provided upon request at no charge.
